HŏNŏR > HŏNōRĭUS

This name derives from Latin “hŏnŏr > Hŏnōrĭus”, meaning “honor, respect, praise, tribute, offering to a deity, honored, esteemed, respected”. Honorius was Western Roman Emperor from 395 to 423. He was the younger son of emperor Theodosius I and his first wife Aelia Flaccilla, and brother of Arcadius, who was the Byzantine Emperor from 395 until his death in 408. Honorius also was a member of the Gregorian mission to Christianize the Anglo-Saxons from their native Anglo-Saxon paganism in 597 AD who later became Archbishop of Canterbury.
