This name derives from the Old Norse name “Heimdallr”, composed of two elements: “heimr” (home, house, world) plus “dallr” (luminous, shining). In turn the name means “the one who lights the house”. It is one of the gods in Norse mythology. He is the guardian of the Bifrost Bridge. He was the son of nine different mothers and was called the White God.
