This name derives from the Ancient Greek “húdōr ‎(ὕδωρ)”, meaning “water”, used also as “time” in Greek legal systems. In Greek mythology, Hydros (also Hydrus) is one of the first primordial gods to emerge forth along with Thesis. Hydros is also sometimes believed to be a child of Chaos and is believed to have emerged alongside the Gods of creation and mud at the creation of the universe.
